I picked this painting for this show, because the world looked at me. At least that how it felt at the time. Before my landscape painting the narrative of the works is about confined space within as a young women and the incapacity to break out for later wander and construct my landscapes, which I started to explore later during my Master of Fine Arts.
The sadness and anger I felt in this confined space has been subject matter in my work for many years, portraits, figures and also still lifes.
A serach for geometric forms and…..
All forms, orbs, thick paint… which lures the viewer into my world (how my body then felt)…. translated into my interpretation of landscapes.
The paintings feel quite intimate to me, but this is how my paintings are constructed. On the other hand I deliberate invite a dialogue with the viewer.
